About me (very late in fact)

So I figured that a lot of you guys don't know about me despite you reading my posts and figuring out that I am a bit on the wonky side. Since that is most inconvenient I have decided to make a list of things about me. None of the depressing stuff just quirks.
1. I do not like round food (meat balls, chicken balls, etc)
2. I correct other peoples grammar and spelling
3. When someone corrects mine I get incredibly self conscious and grumpy
4. I was in competitive gymnastics for 5 years
5. I greatly dislike math
6. I replace swearing with delicious desserts because both of those things are on my mind
7. I hate when it takes someone 20 mins to decide what they want ( little old grannies counting out pennies to buy a $6 item)
8. People who walk really slow for no apparent reason annoy me so much
9. I take kick boxing
10. I write( obviously)
11. I speak 3 languages ( English, French and Japanese)
12. I want to travel the world
13. I read a crap load of books
14. I am 5 feet 2 inches tall (approx. 158 cm)
15. I love music
16. I am addicted to caffeine and sugar
And very important 17. I value honesty and truth.
There are more however these are very basic things I am willing to tell people. I love you guys, and I will write later!

Books 2.0

I love literature. If superman's weakness is kryptonite mine would have to be books.
Every time my parents take me to one I can't help but be distracted. It really is not pretty when I don't have a book to divert my attention.
It has been proven that I am at my nicest when I have a book in front of me. My best friend actually monitors that I don't read under the table during math... I do that  a lot.
So in the spirit of reading I picked up my stock pile so I should be set for at least a month! So I will talk to you later! Ciao!

Christmas Day

I am not a very religious person so when Christmas comes around I don't really pay much attention. However, this year I took up some interest in the holidays. I went Christmas shopping, are food and even decorated the artificial tree we have. Yes we have a fake tree, sue me. We have a fake tree because ig almost ruined my parents marriage(the tree litterally striped of pine needles) and in order for no deaths they purchased a fake tree.

My tree story aside the holidays are the time of year that kicks off a good start to new years. In other news I have a new phone because the old one hated me ( kept getting texts 5 days later instead of instantly!).
Sorry it has been awhile but it was because of the holidays and I think you can sympathize.
I love you guys and I will write to you later!

Places I have traveled

So as the title suggests I will disclose where I have traveled in the world. Yay!
1. St. Thomas U.S Virgin Islands
2. Dominica
3. Curacao
4. Liverpool, England
5. The United States
6. Within Canada
7. Mexico
8. Venezuela
9. Barbados
10. The Bahamas
11. Turks&Caicos
Those are the places I have been. There are many countries that I really want to go to. My next will probably be that or about my dog... I am really very undecided about which one I want to write about more...
Anyways I love you guys and I will talk later. Bye!!

The Butterfly Affect

Yesterday I was cold. Yep cold. I don't know if you have noticed this but I don't like the cold. In fact I DETEST it. However when you live in the coldest city with over 600 000 people you have to fight through it. I have nicknamed this resolution to survive: the Butterfly Affect.
The Butterfly Affect is when you bundle up in as much clothing(ex. Sweaters, long underwear, etc) and climd into sarcophagus of blankets. And in the morning you climb out of the blanket mountain cave you made in the night. It's kind of like a butterfly undergoing metamorphosis.
No Joke.
In retrospect Winnipeggers are probably unfriendly( despite what our license plates say) is because of the really COLD winters.
Oh, before I forget we have the best snow removal strategy in the world! There's a fun fact for y'all. Oh and the Canadian museum of human rights.
Yay okay I love you guys. And I will write to you all soon!

Holidays Ya Gotta Luv Em'

Now the title says it all. The fun, the joy, the rampage for gifts for Xmas, the need for candles for the menorah, a feast for Kwanza, Ukrainian Christmas, and lots of others! They are all great! The great thing is the feeling of caring that comes with holidays.
But there is two downsides: 1. The malls and stores are insane
2. What to buy people.
Usually I have no problems in this department but it is difficult to buy presents under a budget.
Yes I have a budget, sue me. Everyone says you can't put a price on friendship, that may be true but you certainly can on gifts.
Because lets face it, if I was to buy presents for every person I know I would be in an Olympic size pool of debt(meaning a FULL Olympic size pool).
Unfortunately this is a fact. Money doesn't grow on trees( well technically that isn't true, based on the relation between tree to paper to cash, but you get my metaphorical gist).
And let's face it, our hearts and pocket books, can only open so far.
I am really sounding like Scrooge... Okay let's wrap it up with a pretty bow!
I will make my budget reasonable and give thoughtful gifts. What do all of you think?
In the mean time I will be wearing my Santa hat everywhere!

Abstract Titles Rock

So you may know this already but I like everything that has even a hint of abstract. Anything you have to think about the underlying meaning is awesome. It only makes it better if you pick up a book with an abstract title.
When I say abstract I mean that you actually have to read the book and take it to heart to understand the underlying meaning. A glorious example is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. In order to understand the title is to read the book ( I'm not spoiling it's ending! Read it!).
Those are often the most meaningful stories, because they make you think.
I love books if you haven't noticed but I love their complex plot the most.
Now as you might tell that books are a huge thing for me and I will answer: they give me metaphorical boner (LOL this line is from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian).
So pick up a book that has an interesting title, read enjoy but also reflect of the meaning of the words because that is often the best part!
Love you all and will write more later!

Holidays and cinnamon dreams

To start off today's post on good footing, I would just like to say some thanks! Thank you all for your patience with me, I know my postings are not regular but I try to post because of your support! Thank you!
To continue on from that, I am currently re-writing a story I wrote 3 years ago. I am very excited!
I am also excited because the wonderful holiday season is upon us! Although it is a happy time it can also be very frustrating because everything is so DAMN EXPENSIVE! I am cheap, and I know this but these prices kill!
As for the cinnamon dreams, I walked into a craft store and all I smelt was this burning cinnamon smell. It made my eyes water. Although these are 2 annoying parts of the season I still enjoy it!
Now I really want to know what you guys are doing for the season!
Happy Holidays!!!

That Sleepy Feeling

Sorry I have not posted... I have been really tired. Also I went to an event called We Day. We day, by the way is a day to celebrate diversity. Really cool! You know that sleepy feeling you get when you have a lot going on? Yeah I'm feeling that.
Now for 5 things I do when sleepy!
1. Eat carbs( bread)
2. Drink four LARGE mugs full of Earl Gray
3. Sleep with my trusty pillow and fuzzy comfort blanket
4. Write fiction and poems about animals(recently sheep)
5. Read books(currently a sociology book)

So since I really want to do number three on the list I will talk to ya later! Ciao!

Why is it so cold?

Today when I woke up, all I saw was white. It was gross. There was cold and wet clumps of wintertime madness and it is driving me mental!
Walked out of the house, it was cold. Opened the door to let the dog out, it was cold. Worst thing was I HAD TO WEAR SOCKS! SOCKS! How I hate the word as I hate all jammy toes and skis. I live in Winterpeg Manisnowba I should be used to it, but no. You nor I will ever be prepared for - 30 Celsius with a windchill of - 50. It is gross... So if any one is willing can you send me some slippers? My Elmo boots are dying.........

I LOVE BOOKS! I do not have any more words to describe it. They are great! Since it has been awhile since I have written anything half decent, here is Kate's Top 5 Books of All Time:

5. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
4. Skulduggery Pleasant: Scepter of the Ancients
3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
2. Animal Farm
1. To Kill a Mockingbird

And there we have it, Kate's Top 5.
Hopefully if you read these books you will find them as interesting as I do! If you want to know why I like them either leave comments or email me if you can find it on the page... I don't know if it's there... So just leave comments! Yay!

Movies- The Tragedy That Which Is Movie Stores

The lack of movies in movie rental stores astound me. A year ago yo could walk into block buster an find a whole bloody wall jam packed with media crack we could indulge on. But now, now we have to deal with empty shelves! It is deplorable! And I am fed up with nothing to watch. Movies in theaters just aren't the same... You can't point out the flaws by the continuity director, you can't laugh obnoxiously, usually the food kiosk runs out of peanut m&m's and you certainly can't find popcorn that suits your taste. In retrospect I complain a lot but I mean it affects us all! We don't want to pay for a $9 movie plus $18 dollars in concession! That is just grossly expensive! And your probably smirking and saying "wow this chick is cheap!" and I in turn will point at any person who says that this is fine and scoff and shout at the top of my lungs " HAH, sucker! You are prey for the money sucking vampires!". I am obviously one opinion but I THINK THAT THIS ISSUE REALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!

Fliers, Math and... the Mugger Stopper? Oh my

So while I was procrastinating, I came across this ad in the local fliers. Like many fliers the one's today were just as bad, except, THE MUGGER STOPPER.
Yeah you did just read that and it is 100% true. Need proof, I took a picture and it's posted somewhere below this... If I can figure out how... Let's see.... Ahahaha I got it to work!

Anyways I figured that in the epitome of my bored levels I would show you this. BYE

An Interesting Month

Chello. I understand that it has been a long time since I posted but since a lot has been happening I figure, now is the time to tell all of you.
1. I have been back at school for the past week and have survived to tell the tale. Hopefully it lasts.
2.I am thinking of continuing with my writing of a story i started a while ago.
3. I think I grew by 1.5 cm(about half an inch). I'm short so this is a huge development. I am a full 5'2 now!!! I am so happy.
4.I get to write to all you lovely people since I was not at home most of the summer.
5. I have some new friends, I have gotten even more nerdy then I already was and I have embraced Nerdfighteria fully. (Nerdfighteria was started by John and Hank Green, better know has the VlogBrothers, on youtube. Thank you John and Hank for your laughs. You make the world shine.)
and finally 6. I have lost some weight due to my "Food Crisis" piece. I am officially on the band wagon!
So yeah, A LOT has happened... Although I still feel sad that I didn't write that often this summer. I hope none of you will be angry at me, I love my readers more than my Hidden Leaf stainless steel ring, or even my Scott Pilgrim Collection. La Gasp! Not the Scott Pilgrim!!!!!

The Food Crisis

In the past few days, weeks and year really, I have opened my eyes to the food crisis in Canada, North America and the rest of the world. The food crisis is not just anorexia, bulimia and obesity, those are only part of the problem. The other aspect is Malnourishment and food shortage that occurs in impoverished countries. I usually do not take on a political and socially known opinion as I see that the world is full of negativity however in our generation of modern advancement, word can be spread faster and wider than other form, as it is a form of media. I feel strongly on this matter as I have suffered with the uncomfortable side affects of weight gain and the globalization of artificial and chemically engineered food.
I am currently 25-30 heavier than what the average teenage girl of 5'2 should be, and truth that is extremely scary. That I exercise, and eat well, but my addiction to caffeine, because that is what it is has caused unnecessary sugars from sodas into my blood and overall into my body. This has to stop and I WILL stop adding unnecessary sugar and waste in. This is in support to Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and to the promotion of healthy living. Especially mine.

P.S. I teared up as I wrote this and I plan to stick to it.

Top 10 Apps to Check Out

Here are my top 10 personal favorite apps in least to greatest of all time!

10. Facebook. Now I know what your thinking. Facebook? Really? However, growing up in a society of technology and long distance relationships ( friendships, parents, extended family and the love interest) it makes it easier to connect. One condition due to it's obsessive following, Facebook is highly addictive and completely compulsive. When or if you have a profile, make sure as to not to provide to much time to it.

9. Ace Attorney. My all time favorite game now has an app for it. Now if this comes into further need to divulge I will do top ten games. Enough said.

8. Cut the rope. I love this game so much!

7.iBooks. So much to offer but it just doesn't have a great amount of recent stuff so don't get your holes up.

6. Music. Now this app is just your typical music. It will always rank even though not as high as my many other apps.

5. Manga Rock. If you love anime and manga this a great app. The only thing is that in order to favorite your favorites you need to pay. I is well worth it though.

4. YouTube. Always a good way to enjoy those hours of laziness.

3. Discovr. A beautiful way to find musical talent based on your existing library with new artists, artist biographies, links and videos.

2. Starbucks. Yes a caffeine junkie like myself cannot afford to be lost in a strange city without my caffeine. Although I'm sure even without the app I would survive in walking a couple kilometers to find me some good ole caffeine... This just makes it easier.

1. And lastly the note pad app. I write my ideas and short blurbs on it all the time and it is just convenient way to remember things instead of looking for a paper and pen and then losing it later.

* all Apps above are for the iPod touch and opinions are all based on personal interest. I recommend all and all are worthwhile.

I figured since my posts are irregular that when things get to drawn out I will post a favorite list. If you have any comments, insights or questions please comment!

Deer Flies and Late Nights

Ah, the joys of camping. The smell of sunscreen and bug spray perfume, all you can eat steak and salad, endless amounts of trees and sitting by the fire. That is what summer is all about. Yet, summer is not complete without several bites and bruises. For example, this past weekend I spent all of 6 hours outside and ended up with over 25 bug bites, a sun burn on the nose and aching shoulders from tubing. Now combined with the rest of the trip, it was great, however, I am now left with a constant need to scratch, which I can safely say looks absolutely bonkers when you are trying to walk.
Hope everyone's summer is going well and I hope to talk to you all soon.

Have you ever felt that tests and school in general just suck the life out of your bones and mind? Well have no fear because caffeine is here.
This lovely little product found in soda's and delicious coffee goodness and revitalizes and lifts spirits faster than a 20% discount on graphic tees.
I have recently found that when studying this natural pick me up just makes me so... HAPPY!!!!!!
Currently I am sucking back a grande coffee frap from Starbucks and it's like dancing on water it's that good!
I was originally going to talk about how Canucks fans give Vancouver and Canada a bad name but I figured that it would come out better if I did it on my computer instead of my iPod. I may even include pictures and video if I can.
On another note, I was really happy all of the past week because when I had checked my stats page I discovered that people actually read my blog! Now the whole original premise was to release personal tension and just have fun, however now reflecting it makes my days lighter and fluffier to know that my thoughts and days are enjoyable to you and myself.
So thank you everyone who reads and I will connect again in a couple of days!

The last leg

School is almost over and exams are closing those doors. This makes me extremely happy!
So as a little summer kick off I was thinking of asking for your opinions. Should I write a blog about top 10 things to do in summer and you vote or I start a reading project on a book of your choice( by popular vote) and I will review it.
What I really want coming into then next coming months is to get viewer participation! So if you would like either these options or would like to suggest some leave a comment or email me a
Bye people's!

How to be awesome

So, lately I have been a total slacker. So for a change in the winds I have taken up my good old friend writing again.
Last time I picked up my jolly friend pen I experienced this stressful need to write everyday. Let's just say it did not go well.
My goals for this wonderful summer season is to finish up my murder mystery which was a short story but I feel it needs to be longer and read John Green's Papertowns.
And since the title is how to be awesome here are 3 tips.
1. Talk about random things. Starwars is always a great conversation starter.
2. Go to your local political debates. Take a thrill from their childish name calling. It makes you feel less like a child.
And 3. Watch YouTube. Enough said.
I will see you next week!

The wonders of medical science

Medicine is a curious thing. It is interesting and scary at the same time. "Why?" you ponder, well I shall explain why.
I have spent the last couple of days being poked and prodded by those of the medical profession and I am thoroughly put off by the thought of doctors at the moment. Especially their love of poking their victims, uhum, patients with needles.
I have had one already and I will probably need a couple more in the weeks to come. I am not looking forward to this.
If I don't respond for a while it's because the vampires have sucked me dry.
Love you all and to all good day/night!

School is almost out!

So as the last days of school come around all the students( including myself) are preparing for finals. And I probably know what your thinking,"finals? OMG disguting!"
And in fact that statement is justified. I am pulling my hair out the moment because we have to finish assignments AND study for finals. If you are having the exact same problem or are just plain tired in general, a write in the comments below!

One of those days

It has been a while since I posted so I figured I should update. A lot of crazy stuff has been going on and a lot of tension so this will be short.
Will post a nicer fluffier post but today is just so you don't feel lonely.

The Amazing Wonder of Pens

This commercial by GEICO insurance is by far the best they have created. Now the reason this commercial shines brighter than it's predecessors is because a) it has a ninja, b) a karate master and c) a taser.
But what makes this even better is the fact that the taser is not in the karate master's hands, oh no, he get's it delivered to him by a gangly and sick looking postal boy with a small rectangular package. And the moment the ninja whips out his impressive sword, the karate master just calmly signs for his package, not caring that a dude dressed in black and wielding a giant knife is about to kill him.He signs with a really nice pen( that I want, cause it's purtty), and just calmly opens the package and holds out the taser and electrocutes him.
This is funny(to me anyways), because they use an old Chinese proverb " The pen is mightier than the sword", and I find this quite ironic.
Good Job, GEICO. You have learnt well.

Music 1

Today, in the morning, I found the best app for music lovers. It's called Discovr(that's the way it's spelt), only a dollar and with only typing in the name of an artist you get bands that are of similar style and beat that you are sure to love! I have found 3 new bands that I really like and would not have known about otherwise.
It's a great resource for those who have an interest in music and the bands you listen to brcause it also give brief biographies. Overall awesome App.

A week to remember

So hello amigos! I haven't posted in a week... Yeah that's right. Anyways the reason I did not write was because of my birthday, plus I was too busy sleeping. This is mainly a review of any interesting thing I have heard or did. So the list:
1. Finished Miles Edgeworth Investigations(2 is coming out apparently so I am totally jazzed about that)
2. Read Fallen( a so- so book, not as edgy as I thought it would be. If you want further description and opinions ask in the comment section below)
3. Figured out why many people in my school are preps( anything creative boggles their minds and their sheltered brains can't cope)
4. Weird people are awesome( heard this from a little girl in the mall while I was ranting to my mom- I found this hilarious)
5. And many more( suspense!!!)
So bye guys and gals and see you in.... A couple days sorta unsure when but soon!

Thursday, 31 March 2011

CHELLO! So in this post about... 4 days or so after my first official interesting post, we or maybe just I( sad moment T_T), are discussing the dangers of procrastination.
Now your probably wondering what is wrong with this perfectly normal bad habit. I tell you what, many things my friend, dark things.
This ability or force of dark magic can turn even the most diligent into lazy couch potatoes(ha, potatoes). And for all those parents out there, no we can't help procrastination, we are born with it. Yes, I said it WE ARE BORN WITH IT!
Scientists have proven that the procrastination trait is heredity, passed from generation to generation causing side affects like; lack of interest, the ability to multitask, back talk or sass, grunting and flailing limbs, late assignments, annoyance to anyone in path, youtube-itis, vlogging/blogging fever, day dream drool syndrome, and many more.
If you are concerned that you may have any of these symptoms, know that the cure is occasional breaks and loads of caffeine.

Random Side Note: I was bored and it was 11:00 and I had just had an ice capp. Leave comments... you know you wanna.

videogames 1

My taste in video games is by no means conventional. I prefer games like The Professor Layton series(Level 5) and The Ace Attorney series(Capcom) yet these titles are only really known to those who had a year subscription to Nintendo Power, and I want to fix that.
Gamers come in many different shapes and sizes. Many proclaimed gamers are your typical testosterone filled teenage boys who spend more than 24 hours in front of a tv or gaming device when they should be studying. No, video gaming is a global success that is not just open to the classic shoot em' up game.
There is Mario, Sonic, Grand Theft Auto, Trauma Center, Professor Layton and of course Socom. These that I have listed are only a few examples of the various chart toppers, and what do you know they are all of different Genre. My point in this tirade is to declare that even if people claim that hard core gamers are all playing gore fest games, then their wrong. I'm a gamer. I'm a female gamer who enjoys variety. I like all the games listed above and many more. If you have any comments complaints or further response, leave comments below.

Yay For Intros

Hello! This is my blog that I have started for a way of creative fix.
I often find that my writing has no sense, rhyme or reason. I write to write, that's it. However, I would like for people to know how these come to pass. In this blog I will include:
-Personality traits(my own, friends, other peoples. I like things like that)
-Music(yay for this)
-Books(this often inspires many others)
-Favorite words

And that's all. I will be posting again right after this with another post because this is for introductions only.
