One Lovely Blog Award

Hi guys! So I was nominated by the lovely Rose Monique, the blogger behind Black & White Rose for the One Lovely Blog Award. In her nomination I was asked to tell 7 things about myself and then tag 7 more bloggers who I think are deserving.
So therefore lets begin
1. I am 5'1. People always think that I will be taller in person but I am actually quite tiny, I've been told because my voice is  ore mature that I will look older but I am always mistaken for a 14 year old....
2. I speak English, French, Korean and Japanese. I am better however at English and French due to studying them longer.
3. I drink a lot of coffee. My friends have tried multiple times to make me cut back on the Java but I just don't want to kick the habit.
4. I am extremely stubborn. I would like to say that it is a learned behavior but I would be lying. It is almost impossible to change my mind after it has been set.
5. I have always hated talking on the phone. There is something so annoying about talking to someone where you don't know if they are paying attention to you.
6. I am an Arts Student. People always laugh and ask where that will get me but what would the world be without the Arts?
7. My guilty pleasure is watching Teen Dramas. There is something about gorging on Teenage drama that grounds me back to what high school was for me. I suppose when you watch an undead teenager mess up her life, your life seems pretty good in comparison.

Anyways, enough about me!
I would really like for LenaStylez, Circle Of Chaos, Gabriella Manchester, Daisy Del Cherie, DearStephiiie, Anne Stikvoort and Once in Paris to do this TAG as well!

Products That I am Loving

Hey everyone! I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while, however, university has taken a lot out of the creative faculties. That does not mean though that I have not thought about you guys constantly. So today I am going to talk, as a quasi apology, about products that I use all the time nowadays.

1. "Black Berry Bramble Tea" candle from Bath and Body Works
I really love this candle because it smells like a nice cup of tea on a cold afternoon in the fall. Its really nice to burn when you are doing homework or just relaxing so your whole room smells like comfort. Attention: REMEMBER TO PUT OUT THE CANDLE!!!! I don't want a relaxing evening to go horribly wrong!

2. Marc Jacobs Beauty O! Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara in "Blacquer 30"
The formula on this mascara is amazing and the effect is really nice too. This mascara is perfect for that "oomphh" without the clump and I attribute this too the light weight nature of the mascara's formula. Another plus from Marc Jacobs Beauty is that the mascara is formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates which cause irritation for sensitive eyes.
3. Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Cream
I really like that this BB cream is versatile and has medium coverage. I have been having really red cheeks and the moisture and the pigment have been balancing out my skin tone. I also really like how it has a matte appearance once it drys onto the skin instead of some of the dewier BB creams in North America. Dr. Jart+ is a popular Korean brand and I am glad to see it in North America!

4. Rooms by Lauren Oliver
This novel was really interesting. I wouldn't necessarily read this novel for a light and fluffy novel choice but I would recommend it to someone who enjoys literary devices. It was an intriguing tale of ghosts, an old house and letting go of our demons. Really good.

Anyways that's it from me today. I love you guys.

Life update

Hey guys! It's been a week I think since I last posted and I really feel like in the past couple days I haven't talked to you guys a lot has changed. So I really wanted to share a little with you!
1. New blog appearance! 2 weeks ago myself and Michelle Baird from Shabby Creations updated the blog appearance. When I say myself and Michelle I completely mean Michelle who captured the feeling of the blog totally. So as you can see it's now simple, fresh and totally fierce. I love it!
2. My full time summer job has ended. Whilst I will not miss lifting tables I will miss the awesome people I was able to work with this summer. I was able to experience a new job and earned money so in my books it's a job well done.
3. My life as a university student begins on Wednesday. It's crazy to think that summer is over and this time last year I was still in high school. I think this new part of my life will be extremely exciting and I can't wait to take you guys along for the ride.
So not a lot has changed in numbers but the impact they have has certainly been extensive. I hope you guys have had a good week and I will talk to you later

My week in Pictures: #1, August 20

Hi guys! I have been really busy and I am really sorry for neglecting you guys, but I have been working on improving Pêche et Crème as a more aesthetically pleasing blog. However, I have been taking somewhat of a photo diary of my past week so please enjoy!
I snuck into my neighbours yard and took this picture. I really liked the contrast of colours.
It took a lot of chasing to finally get this little guy to rest in one place but I got the money shot eventually.

This is a wild daisy that I found flourishing in a small patch of grass nestled between gravel patches. I liked the way the petals were overlapped and were asymmetric.
This boat was stranded on the submerged dock which had filled it with lake scuzz, but from afar it's grotesque truth is concealed by the stunning colours.

I hope you like my nature inspired week!

Make Up Goes in One Direction: Midnight Memories Limited Edition Review

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not posted for awhile but I have been busy with my full time job and that kinda takes away from blogging. Sorry! However, I believe I will make up for this indiscretion but giving you a sneak peek into what the One Direction make up line will look like. Markwins International sent me these samples for me to show you, isn't that cool?! Anywho, I shall reveal the much anticipated "Midnight Memories" collection.
So this is what the inside of the "Midnight Memories" set looks like. I like how the packaging provides various eye colours and looks that will correspond well. It is a great introduction for younger teens or a nice collection item for fans.
The packging of the individual items is sleek and graphic which is a nice aestethic and matches the alternative-pop nature of One Direction.

The eye shadow has nice pigmentation and the colours are subtle and can be worn dark or light, depending on day and night. I am in love with the greys in this paellete because they are very wearable. With eye primer the eyeshadows will last longer but I found that I had to reapply after 4 hours, which I think is a good mid range product.
This lip gloss, "Through the Dark" is nice however, it feels a little sticky for my liking but has very nice pigmentation. I would definetely reccomend this for a night out where you want no fuss. the colour apparently also changes when exposed to UV light, so thats kind of cool.

This lipstick, "Best Song Ever" is a dramatic crimson lipstick. It is definetly not for the faint hearted but it has a very rich undertone of blues which are good for cool tones like myself. Tip: Use a lipliner that matches your lip colour to avoid bleeding and to preserve the original colour. People normally reccomend the lipstick colour, however, the lip liner will never truly match so you won't get that pure colour you want.
The eyeliner, also doubles as a body crayon to draw on the stencils provided in the kit. The formula is nice and spreads on easily, however, I think it is best applied by dotting along the lash line and filling in with an eyeliner brush as the actual crayon is quite thick.
These are the swateches for the above products.

The nail polish, "Right Now", will probably need two coats as it is sheer with just one.

"Little Black Dress" Masscara has a nice applicator. Tip: When buying mascara buy for the brush design first then formula. Each wand serves a different purpose. This mascara is good for everyday use as it works as a volumizer. I am still on the fence but so far so good.

My overall impression: Good make up, nice packaging, reasonable price.
The Looks collection by One Direction will be available in the States at:
 Macy's - August 11th
Stage Stores- August 25th
Dillards-August 25th
Beauty Brands -August 25th
Lord and Taylor - August 25th
International dates of release have yet to be released.

If you are a fan of One Direction please look forward to The "looks Collection" coming soon!

June Favourites: Delayed May Rain

Hey guys! It feels as though it has been forever since I did a favourites post. This month is kind of exciting because I went on a bit of a splurge on shoes and as well as accessories. Let's get started!

The radio this summer has been jammed with hits by Iggy Azalea. I really like "Fancy" and the other song she does with Ariana Grande, but I really love "Black Widow" which features Rita Ora. I have loved Rita Ora since I heard her song, "R.I.P" ft. Tinie Tempah. I love how the song has a upbeat electronica feel and then drops to a slower rift. It has complexity from simplicity if that makes sense. Parental advisory on this song however, as it is explicit.

I have been reading Freddie Huang's book, "Fresh Off the Boat". Freddie Huang is a New Yorker who owns the restraunt Bao Haus and has appeared on Vice as a correspondent as well as a guest on their  segment Munchies. The book is entertaining because you get a first hand look into what it is like for a Chinese-American in the early days of coming to a new country. I highly reccomend it because it is serious but also touches all the humour that is within families.

I actually bought these all this past month... It was a bit of a whirlwind but so fun!

I bought these two beauties and I couldn't be happier. So pretty!!!

Sorry for the long time in between posts, I had my HighSchool graduation and then I promptly started my summer full time position. I have been so busy and tired and hopefully things will get easier to post when I get my times all figured out. I love you guys and I will talk to you later! Bye!

Name change

Follow my blog with BloglovinI have changed the name of the blog! If you have any questions just contact me.
I changed the name as I previously mentioned in my last post that the previous name did not represent this blog or me anymore.
I love you guys and thank you so much for your support.
P.s. Pêche et Crème, is a nick name that I came up with based on what my mum calls my "peaches and cream" complexion.

So I don't know if you guys know but there is a beauty TAG circulating on the Internet. I figured that you guys might want to know a little more about me besides the little things I share. Please enjoy my answers!

1: What are you wearing?  Pajamas because it is currently 12:00 at night and I am still not sleeping. Probably not healthy, but oh well.
2: Ever been in love? Yes I have been.
3: Ever had a terrible breakup? No, actually.
4: How tall are you? I'm 5'2 (I am actually just 5'1.5 but I round up because it makes me feel better)
5: How much do you weigh? I guess this is important to be honest with. I am 162 pounds, but don't share that too loudly.
6: Any tattoos? No but I want one on my ankle
7: Any piercings? Yes, 1 on each ear. I really want to get another piercing on my right ear but not sure where specifically
8: OTP? There is a Korean variety show called Running Man. I really love the Monday couple. If you don't know what it is search it up
9: Favourite show? Hannibal. This is pretty recent though.
10: Favorite bands? I really love the Fray and Big Bang
11: Something you miss? Dance. I used to take dance in middle school and it was my favourite thing to do
12: Favorite song? My favourite song of all time is "Won't Be Long" by The Royalty
13: How old are you? 18 years old
14: Zodiac sign? Western: Aries, Chinese: rat
15: Quality you look for in a partner? A good sense of humour. I want someone that can make me laugh all the time because sometimes I need cheering up and laughing helps with that
16: Favorite Quote? "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life"
 Pablo Picasso
17: Favorite actor? Joseph Gordon Levitt
 18: Favorite color? Red
19: Loud music or soft? Depends. My music choice is reflective to what kind of mood I am in.
20: Where do you go when you’re sad? Bed. Because bed makes me happy due to its snuggliness. But when bed isn't an option I usually go to a coffee shop or book store
21: How long does it take you to shower? 10-15 minutes normally
22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? At best 10 minutes at worst 30
23: Ever been in a physical fight? Yes. It's a long story but I will tell you that it was mostly restraining a person.
24: Turn on? Backs. I love how a guys shirts flexes on the back muscles.
25: Turn off? Feet. Hate the smell, the look and the very thought of skunky feet.
26: The reason I became a blogger? I wanted to be able to express myself in a very open way. Writing requires a lot of thought into life and what others face. Being a blogger it allowed me to be self reflective as well as work on my skills to address an audience. I also started a blog because I wanted a way to connect.
27: Fears? Fire and hot water
28: Last thing that made you cry? The Fault in Our Stars movie
29: Last time you said you loved someone?  Before going to bed, to my parents
30: Meaning behind your Blog Name? I originally wanted to call it something else. I have been really influenced by fantasy fiction hence "the Odd and wondrous", but there was already a book called that. So when I wrote out the title to the blog I thought it would be more of a book site so I named it "cover to cover", to avoid copyright laws. However, has I have aged I have questioned whether to rename it. Should I?
31: Last book you read? The Bradshaw Diaries. I wouldn't reccomend it.
32: The book you’re currently reading?  Eddie Huang's "Fresh Off the Boat". It's good so far, but I only just started it.
33: Last show you watched? Hannibal, because who doesn't love a sociopathic cannibal?
34: Last person you talked to? My best friend

36: Favorite food? Pad Thai. That's my shit
37: Place you want to visit? Japan and Korea, if I really had to choose from my long list.
38: Last place you were? London, Florence, Paris and Rome. At least the last interesting places I was.
39: Do you have a crush? Nope. My love life is pretty ad at the moment.
40: Last time you kissed someone? Does grade school count?

42: Favorite flavor of sweet? Lemon
43: What instruments do you play? I don't play an instrument
44: Favorite piece of jewelry? A family ring, a locket on a pandora chain and a necklace my best friend bought me
45: Last sport you played? Does boxing count?
46: Last song you sang? "Till the casket drops" by ZZ Ward
47: Favorite chat up line? "Hey baby are you a fighter? Because you just knocked me out with your beauty"
48: Have you ever used it? Um, no. I just came up with it. I actually really hate chat up lines.
49: Last time you hung out with anyone? This afternoon. I went for coffee with my best friend. I see a theme here...
50: Who should answer these questions next?
I want you guys to answer these questions! Of my favourite fellow bloggers  I would like to see Amy Elizabeth Fashionmilk bubble teaBittersweet Shelby and RyokogurlAll of these women are such wonderful bloggers and I would love to see their answers to these questions!

The Fault in Our Stars: Movie and Book

Hi guys! Remember how much I said I love John Green? I didn't? Well it would be fair to say that John Green is probably my favourite author. What I like about him? He's realistic. There's none of the childish drama that some novels have. It's real.
My particular favourite is "An Abundunce of Katherines" but "The Fault in Our Stars" comes in very close second. When I first read "The Fault in Our Stars", I had just watched my favourite movie, "50/50" with Joseph Gordon Levitt, Seth Rogan and Anna Kendrick. Both are about cancer and I was extremely emotional for probably days afterwards. My best friend literally had to drag me out of the fetal position of sadness so I would go to school.
Like everyone else around the world we are all flocking to watch the movie. I usually hate movies that were once books because I feel it ruins it, (my only exceptions were, Twilight, because they already sucked and couldn't get much better anyways and The Hunger Games, because that was "meh" in my opinion. These are both strictly personal, so please do not be offended if you like those books) but I can honestly say that "The Fault in Our Stars movie" did the book justice. On John green's YouTube channel that he shares with his brother, the VlogBrothers , John was part of the filming process and you could tell it was an authentic re telling. Both are separate entities but are born from the same mind. Both are great and one does no subs tract from the other.
One thing that I had to complain about the movie. They should but an advisory to come with tissues because I left the theatre a wreck and was literally sobbing. My best friend yet again had to almost drag me out of the fetal position of sadness.
Anyways, I loved both the book and the movie and I recommend both highly.

Advice Tuesday: How to Resist Peer Pressure

Hi guys! Today I really wanted to take the blog to a more serious topic because I feel that keeping silent about peer pressure will not help anyone. I dont usually broach these topics as not to upset anyone, however, as I have some pointers I want to share them.

There are a lot of things that the people in our lives want us to do. However, it is how we, individuals, determine what to do and not what to do is what makes us individuals.
Advice # 1:
If you feel it is a danger to you don't do it. I dont care if your friend is jumping off a bridge and they wont respect you. If they don't respect your choice they arent your friend.
Advice # 2:
Don't deny yourself oppurtuinities because you feel uncomfortable. If your friend is sugessting something to you and you know the activity is safe, don't deny yourself the oppurtuinity, because in that case your friend has your best interest in mind.
Advice # 3:
Illegal activities are a bad idea to get involved in. Even if you aren't doing the illegal act you can be charged for knowing the person, so steer clear of things like that.
Advice # 4:
Not all peer pressure is bad. Sometimes peer pressure helps you build character and allows  you to try new and exciting things that you never knew existed.
Advice # 5:
Saying no to things is okay. If, at any time, you feel uncomfortable you can say no.
Advice # 6:
But hear out the reasons why your peer wants you to do it. Sometimes, the peer is trying to push you to grow and you don't know it. Try to be open minded and hear them out first before you say no.

Anyways, I hope that anyone, young teen or older adult, this helps. The reason why I wanted to write a post about this is because I think it is important. Some of the advice is common sense, but also my own persoanl expereience. At times I feel uncomfortable, as does everyone else, however, it is okay to say no and know when to push yourself. That all comes with exposure.
My last little bit of advice is to not fear peer pressure. If you fear peer pressure, you lose sight of personal growth and goals, and in the end it holds you back.
I love you guys and I will post something lighter next time. Ciao!

Friday, 6 June 2014

Hi guys! Today I have a really cool find for you. I recently joined a site called, which allows the user to  suggest outfit ideas, receive outfit ideas as well as get in contact with fashion bloggers for their advice. The website is well organized and easy to navigate, which makes it fun to play around on. My favourite feature is that other people on the site can recommend looks based on items you have liked. It is such a great community and I highly recommend it if you like fashion or want to broaden your wardrobe and style.

Song Review: "Pretty Hurts" by Beyonce and "G.U.Y" by Lady Gaga

Hi guys! I have a special announcement and post for you today! I am going to the Lady Gaga concert in less then a week as well as the Beyonce ft. Jay Z concert in July! Today, I really wanted to highlight both artists new videos of 2014. Both artists are superb and easily are some of the strongest women in the music industry in my opinion.

"Pretty Hurts" by Beyonce
I really love the concept of this video because it shows the ugliest parts of what is suppoused to be beautiful such as a beauty pageant. Beauty pageants are typically are what people define as beautiful and Beyonce points out that beauty is individualism. The lyrics also mirror what the video is saying which is amazing because Beyonce questions the socail medias definition of what beauty is and what she feels is what is truly beautiful. I think the overall theme of the video is to show that insecurity about "perfection" only makes us unhappy and that our aspiration is to be happy. And I truly love that about this song wholeheartedly.

"G.U.Y" by Lady Gaga
As always Lady Gaga impresses with both an intersting video and a extremely catchy song. At first listen it sounds like she wants to be a guy however further listening to the lyrics you hear "girl under you" which makes the song more layerd and also clever. I love this song because Lady Gaga asserts that she is an equal partner and wants to be treated as such, not like a flower who has to be protected. Although extremely sexual the song and video are good and should be watched (however maybe not with someone under the age of 8).

These two songs are both amazing and I am really proud to be going to performances by these two powerful women. I will talk to you guys later
